Differentiation

The world around us is constantly changing: prices rise and fall, populations grow, objects move around, and small adjustments to one quantity can have large effects on another. Mathematical models give us a way to describe these relationships, but to understand how they change, we need something more. In this chapter, we'll develop differentiation as a way to measure change and sensitivity, while building algebraic tools that allow us to calculate these effects efficiently.
